Enhancing the natural appearance of your wig

17 Jan 2023

You recently purchased a wig, and now you're anxious about how natural it appears. You can create the look of your dreams with our advice and tactics!

The Aleecias Boutique wigs are designed to look as natural as possible with very little maintenance required, so you don't always need to follow these steps to get the desired look.

However, if you feel the need to go above and beyond to feel more at ease in your wig, here are four steps you can follow:

1. Hairline and Parting Pluck

I understand that if you just got your wig, this step could seem incredibly frightening, but it just might change the way you wear your wigs forever! When you observe a natural hairline, it is very rarely even and typically has a straight hairline that does not mix in well with the skin.

What can you then do? Pull your wig out! When your perfect lace front wig arrives, separate and pluck the hairline to achieve the smoothest, most seamless hairline possible.

Grab your tweezers, and you can spend the entire day picking! Pull out each individual hair at the hairline with tweezers. It's that simple; just part your hair in the direction you want it to look.

To avoid being too tweezer-happy, you can do this while wearing your wig on your head or while trying it on repeatedly.

2. Concealer

Concealer!? in your hair? I know it seems unusual, but it really works! Begin by turning your wig inside out, locating the portion, and grabbing your concealer. On the inside of the lace along the parting, concealer should be applied.

Put your wig back on, check that the parting is where you want it, and then add a little extra concealer this time along the parting on the exterior of the wig.

To make it look airbrushed, add a little powder or powder foundation along the concealer application area to ensure that everything is well blended out. Take your time, and be sure! Never apply large amounts at once; always apply little amounts gradually.

The race is won by steadiness and pace. However, you can always wash it out, so don't worry about getting it perfect while you're still learning.

3. Bronzer

Right now, makeup is your best buddy. I promise that this step is a little simpler than the previous one. You only need a dense brush and your bronzer to get started. You put your wig on, cover it, and shape it, and yet you still want that additional mix.

All you need to do is take the bronzer you previously prepared, retrieve your makeup brush from the bag, and brush bronzer down the wig's hairline. I'm done now.

If you're a little more skilled, you may apply your bronzer with a dense brush along the hairline and then blend it out with a beauty blender or a softer brush. This gives the hairline depth and will help the roots and scalp blend together.

4. Stylish Comb Hairstyles

This advice, however, is incredibly extra and is intended primarily for perfectionists who want to go above and beyond to make their wigs perfect.

5. Get a heated comb as a treat

By doing so, you can ensure that your wig looks as natural as possible while also reducing some of its thickness. Additionally, you want to be careful with this step because it calls for heat, and not all wigs react well to heat.

Always check before using heat!

Our Last Secret Suggestions

Grab some hair products like wax and mousse to apply to the hair for styling and taming as one of your final tips and tricks for making your wig look as natural as possible.

The wig's hair can be smoothed out and tamed by adding mouse to the wig's root.
